Tonyia Kay Hammond, age 63, passed away at her home in Fairborn Ohio on November, 17, 2020 due to complications from COPD. She was born in December of 1956 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Hershel and Emma (Meece) Lykins. She spent the first decades of her life in Somerset, Kentucky where she met and married Dallas Hammond (dec. May 2014).
Tonyia is survived by her older sister, Lyla Lykins and husband Allen Molnar (Fairborn); her younger sister, Monna and husband Roger Hoffman (Beavercreek); her son, Daniel Lykins (Kettering) and daughter, Holly Hammond (Gainesville FL); nieces, Amberly and Chelsea Hoffman and nephew, Luke Hoffman.
Tonyia came to live in Fairborn in 1990 to be near her parents and sisters. She was the best cook in our family and we have great memories of her contributions to holiday celebrations over the years. Our favorite will always be "FCO" -- Fried taters (greasy), white meal cornbread and lots of onions. When her children grew up and flew the nest she delighted in preparing treats for her beloved cats, Tinker and Nana. Her last email to a family member talked about the latest attempt to please a finicky eater.
A graveside service is planned at Byron Cemetery, Fairborn Ohio, laid to rest next to her mother.
