Stephen Eikenberry Obituary

Stephen Cecil Eikenberry, 75, of Kettering OH (formerly of Pitsburg, OH)  passed away Saturday May 21st, 2022 at Kettering Medical Center with his family at his side.  Steve was born on July 19, 1946 at Wayne Hospital in Greenville Ohio to Howard Cecil Eikenberry and Phoebe June (Ross) Eikenberry.  He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, David R. Eikenberry.  Steve was married on October 10, 1996 to Linda McCalla Eikenberry of Kettering, who survives.  Also surviving, daughter Tammy (Dean) Craport of Arcanum, Steve (Veronica) Eikenberry of Orlando, FL.  Six grandchildren:  Dane, Dalton, and Devin Craport of Arcanum. Nicolette Guerrero (Josh) Nilsson of Denver, CO, Sophia Eikenberry and Stefan Eikenberry of Gainesville, Fl.  One brother, Phil (Norma) Eikenberry of Englewood, OH also survives.  Several nieces and nephews also survive. His five fur babies:  Waldo, Smoke, Snoopy, Molly and Minnie have met him at the Rainbow Bridge.  

Steve graduated from Franklin Monroe High School in Pitsburg, OH in 1964.  After high school, he served in the Air Force.  He served in Vietnam with Red Horse Construction Company from 1966-1967.  He retired from the Dayton Veterans Administration Medical Center, where he worked for 40 years in the Engineering Department.  He was a member of the VFW 9927 in Kettering OH and the American Legion #598 in Kettering, OH.  He loved Ohio State Sports (of any kind), the Cincinnati Reds, and the Cincinnati Bengals, but most of all he loved his family.  Anyone wishing to make a memorial contribution, donations may be made to The Tenth Life (no kill cat sanctuary) P.O. Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Morris Sons Funeral Home, 1771 E. Dorothy Lane, Kettering. Family will receive friends 9:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service.
