Ruth Tetmeyer

TETMEYER, Ruth Ann, maiden name Ruth Ann Brandt, age 82, formerly of Beavercreek Ohio, passed away February 29, 2020 in Kettering Ohio. She was a graduate of Versailles High School in 1955 and received her BS from Miami University, Oxford in 1959, and her MS from Wright State.  Ruth was an active member at Abiding Christ Lutheran Church for over 30 years, where she played piano for the children”s choir and was a member of the adult choir.  Ruth enjoyed many years as an educator, teaching young adults as a learning disabilities specialist at Bellbrook High School, teaching children bible school at Abiding Christ, and volunteering as a GED coach. Ruth’s talents were many, she was a caring educator, an accomplished pianist, an avid flower gardener, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, community volunteer and friend. Ruth loved to travel the world with family and friends, exploring four continents and over twenty countries. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Donald of over 50 years and her parents Emil and Edith Brandt. She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Cheng and her husband John; her son, Michael Tetmeyer and his wife Kim; her 2 granddaughters, Kelsey and Katelyn; her 2 grandsons, Alex and Eric; her sister, Alice Appel; her brother, Allen Brandt; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Due to COVID-19 concerns, Ruth's memorial has been rescheduled for Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 2:00 pm at the Abiding Christ Church at 326 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Road in Fairborn.
