Leasure, Rose Mary, age 67 of Kettering, OH passed away Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at Kettering Hospital. She was born in Xenia, OH to the late Viola (Dunaway) Thrash McCaslin & the late Thomas Eugene Thrash.
Rose Mary was a high school graduate having initially attended Fairborn Park Hills before completing her education. She also trained as a Home Care Professional and cared for many elderly citizens in the Kettering, Bellbrook, Centerville and Beavercreek areas.
Rose Mary enjoyed singing country western music and had the pleasure of singing with “Box Car Willy” at a military USO in Germany while overseas in the 1970’s. She continued with her love of singing music throughout her life.
Her most treasured time she loved spending with her family, friends, and grandchildren, who she had the pleasure of “grandma watching” during their earlier childhood years.
Rose Mary is preceded in death by her parents, and her step-father: John McCaslin, and her grandson Joshua Leasure, U.S. Marine, father-in-law & mother-in-law: William & Helen Leasure, and a brother-in-law: William Donald Leasure.
She is survived by her husband, Gary Leasure, Sr., as best friends and married for 34 years; a daughter Virginia “Ginny” Schultz, a step-son Gary Leasure, Jr. & his fiance' Stella Vlahos, 3 grandchildren: Stephanie, Maxwell and Austin, “Grandma’s” latest joy, all of Kettering and Oakwood. She is also survived by 2 sisters & brothers-in-law: Jeanie (Rick) Landon of Springboro, Julie (Kevin) Randall of Xenia, brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law: Tim (Julie) Leasure of Kettering, Tony (Becky) Leasure of Gulf Shores, Alabama, Donna J. Leasure of Kettering, and close friends: Mike (Peggy) Peebles of Centerville, John (Diane) Heron of St. Pete, Florida, Gary Stevens of Springfield, OH in addition to many beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. – 12 noon Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Morris Sons Funeral Home, 1771 E. Dorothy Lane, Kettering, OH. Funeral service will follow at 12 noon with Dr. Will Leasure, Pastor, officiating. Burial to follow at David’s Cemetery in Kettering.
