Robert Riffle Obituary

Robert Gordon Riffle, born in Lindley, NY, passed away Monday April 18, 2022 at age 88, at the Springfield Masonic Home.

Robert grew up in Addison NY, where after graduating, married his high school sweetheart, and in 1952 joined the US Navy. After his first term of service was over and his family had begun, he left the Navy and joined the US Air Force. After 23 years of service, he retired as a Senior Master Sergeant in 1973. 4 years later he went into the civil service and retired again after another 20 years. His work with the Air Force was primarily done in the photo lab where he developed recon photos during the Vietnam War years and beyond. He was happily married to Patricia (Westbrook) Riffle for 63 years until her death in 2016. He retired to the Masonic Home in 2018, where Parkinson's Disease and some unfortunate mishaps caused his health to decline rapidly.

He is survived by his sister Helen Terwilleger, Addison NY; his brother James Riffle, Addison NY; his sons David Riffle, Dayton NV; and Steven Riffle, New Carlisle OH, his Daughter Linda, Boulder Creek CA;  and many other nieces nephews and cousins in New York state, as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren in Ohio and California. He will be missed.
