Richard Rodehaver Obituary

RODEHAVER, Richard (“Dick”) Lee, 85 of Kettering, Ohio passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Hospice of Dayton.  Richard is survived by his wife, Rose, his son David (Claire) and his daughter Robin Boehmer (Larry Miller).  He has 5 Grandchildren and 6 great-Grandchildren.  Rose has four children: Joanie, Carl, Carolyn (Tim) and Michael (Molly), along with 6 Grandchildren and 4 great-Grandchildren.  Richard was preceded in death by his parents John & Christine Rodehaver, his brother Charles Rodehaver (Mary Ann) and his great-Granddaughter, Harper Kerlin.

Richard was born in Guysville, Ohio on Feb. 1, 1936. He proudly served in the Army’s 82nd Airborne from 1954 to 1956.  Dick worked for over 16 years at NCR, followed by 25 years at the United States Postal Service.  Dick enjoyed riding his motorcycle, playing softball, pitching horseshoes and playing euchre. Dick also loved spending the winter months in Florida.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of Richard to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Pk, Dayton 45420 or The Alzheimer’s Assoc. of Dayton, 31 W. Whipp Rd, Dayton, OH 45459.

Graveside services will be held 10:00 am on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at Dayton National Cemetery  Following the service, there will be a gathering to celebrate Dick’s life at the American Legion, 5700 Kentshire Drive.  Morris Sons Funeral Home, 1771 E.
