Michael Broadstone Obituary

Broadstone, Michael Joseph, age 81 of Chillicothe, OH, passed away Friday, March 27, 2020 at Ohio State University Hospital.  He is preceded in death by parents, Franklyn & Charlotte Broadstone; 2 sisters, Shirley Broadstone Portner and Marilyn Broadstone.  He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Judith Rae (Franke) Broadstone; children, Michelle Broadstone, Joe & Melanie Broadstone (Konczalla); grandchildren, Dominik and Sophie and many other family members and friends.  Michael served his country as a corpsman in the U.S. Navy, went on to work at Mound Laboratories on the team that developed the radioisotope thermoelectric generators (power supply) that powered many of NASA’s spacecraft. He retired after working at many of the east coast nuclear power plants where he developed procedures for the operation, maintenance and safety of the nuclear reactors.  He was active in his community and was a member of the American Legion and Cold War Patriots.  Services will be private. He will be laid to rest in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.  The family will announce at a later date when a Celebration of Life gathering will be held.
