Joyce Lea Gordon

Gordon, Joyce Lea 79, of Sugar Creek Township, passed away Friday November 8, 2019.  She was born October 22, 1940 in Ryan, Oklahoma to Alta and Woodrow Maxwell.  A longtime resident of the Miami Valley, Lea earned her BS degree from Wright State University and her MBA from Regis University.  She retired as a civilian engineer from the U.S. Air Force with thirty years of service.  Lea continued to provide technical support to the Department of Defense through employment with several engineering services firms.  Lea was a military veteran who served on active duty in the United States Marine Corps.  Family activities, Gardening, Recreational Flying, Travel, and  the pursuit of technology were among her life’s passions.

Lea is survived by immediate family members; husband Gary; sisters June Valls, Jean Giambalvo and Jeannette Harrigan; two loving sons, Scott and Terrance Bryant; step children Mike and Melissa Gordon, seven grandchildren, Kate Bryant, Heather Lambert, Andrew Bryant, Estonia Bryant, Zack Bryant and Laurana and Logan Gordon; a great granddaughter Olivia Lambert and her beloved Golden Retriever, Dakota. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, November 15, 2019 at Morris Sons Funeral Home, 1771 Dorothy Lane, Kettering Ohio.
