Joccelyn O. Elam

Joccelyn O. Elam, age 73 of Dayton, Ohio passed away Saturday, January 29, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Hyden, Kentucky to the late Shelvie and Georgia (Jones) Osborne of Sizerock, KY. In addition to her parents, Joccelyn was preceded in death by her brothers, R.B. and Merle Osborne.

Joccelyn is survived by her son, Garry W. Elam II (Heather); grandchildren: Jessica C. Hodge, Garry W. Elam III, and Hannah L. Elam; great granddaughter: Mya I. Hodge; significant other of over 20 years: Michael D. Bauer; sister: Zona M. Turner (Robert); brothers; Delbert W. Osborne (Karen); Bill J. Osborne (Wendy); Roger D. Osborne; nieces and nephews; Becky, Jason, Dana, Robbie, Delbert Jr., Andy, Jon, Amanda and numerous other relatives and cherished friends.

Joccelyn by profession was a beautician of 35 years, who owned and operated Towers Beauty Salon. She enjoyed working in her yard, quilting and sewing, and entertaining guests in her home. She was of Pentecostal faith. Joccelyn was the matriarch of her family and cherished family and friends immensely.  Her wisdom and strength was unwavering.  She was held in high regard and will be greatly missed by all. Joccelyn has made an impact on all those that have known her.

Visitation for Joccelyn O. Elam will be held at Morris Sons Funeral Home, 1771 E. Dorothy Lane, Kettering, Ohio from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. on Tuesday, February 1, 2022.

An additional visitation will be held in Kentucky on Thursday, February 3, 2022 from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. at Sizerock Baptist Church, 18 Sizerock Baptist Rd, Sizerock, KY with Rev. Kevin Napier officiating. Funeral services will be conducted at Sizerock Baptist church on Friday, February 4, 2022 at 11 a.m. with burial services following at Woods Cemetery in Hyden, KY.
