Howard McWilliams Obituary

On November 13, 2019 Colonel Howard McWilliams, retired USAF, of Xenia, Oh, loving husband and father of four passed away at Miami Valley Hospital the age of 78.

Howard was born in 1941, in Bastrop LA.  He spent his early childhood, living in Bastrop, La, in San Isidro, TX, and in Victoria, TX.  As a young man Howard attended the University of TX where he received his undergraduate degree in pre-med and then went on to earn a Masters Degree in Economics from South Dakota State University.

Howard started his career by enlisting in the Air Force.  He spent 27 years in service to his country retiring as a Colonel.   He was a Transportation officer, a Logistics Officer, Professor of Aircraft Acquisition at the Industrial College of the Armed Forces, and Director of Requirements for the Air Force Material Command.  His service took him all over the world and allowed him to have a caring group of lifelong friends from many different walks of life.  After retirement from the Air   Force Howard made a second career in service to his community as a member of the Kettering Fire Department where he was a Dispatcher for 15 years.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia; his two daughters, Andrea Snavley and Jody McCurdy; two sons, Kevin and John Horch; five grandchildren and one great grandson.  He is also survived by his loving brother, Scott McWilliams and his sister Linda Phillips.

He will be remembered fondly as a dedicated and loyal soul, and an interesting story teller who lived a full and interesting life.
