Shartle, Evelyn Lorraine, age 94 of Medway, passed away Monday, February 7, 2022 with her family by her side. She is preceded in death by her husband Edward Shartle in 1991, an infant brother, three sisters & brothers-in-law: Joan (Chuck) Breakfield, Beulah (Bob) Martin, Caroline Lee (Gary Lee) Lauderman; three brothers & sister-in-law: Myrle J. Griffin, Robert Griffin, Pastor Gary (Ann) Griffin, along with many friends throughout her life.
She is survived by her daughter & son-in-law: Carol (Layton) Vires of Union, OH; a sister & brother-in-law: Pam (Martin) Spence of Parkersburg, WV; two sisters-in-law: Mary Jo Griffin of Coolville, OH and Shirley Griffin of Las Vegas. Three grandchildren: Melissa (Dennis) Henson of Kettering, Robert (Anny) Fletcher of West Chester, Tiffany Hopkins of Riverside, OH; 7 great-grandchildren: Amanda Henson, James Henson, Evelyn Henson, Dylan Fletcher, Abigail Fletcher, Christopher Schaeffer, Alyssa Schaeffer; 3 great-great grandchildren: Aubrey Henson, Callie Stegeman, Aria Nunez along with a close family friend: Henry Human; nieces, nephews and numerous other family members and friends.
Evelyn graduated from Carthage-Troy High School, Coolville, OH in 1945 then worked as a secretary at WPAFB for a number of years before becoming a homemaker. She was a member of Greenmont Oak Park Community Church since 1960 and a member of the VFW #2800. She enjoyed fishing, bowling, gardening, Bingo, playing cards, especially Pinochle, and watching the Cincinnati Reds. She loved spending time with her family and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at Morris Sons Funeral Home, 1771 E. Dorothy Lane, Kettering, OH with Rev. Kathryn Anadein officiating. Burial to follow at Medway Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent to www.morris-sons.com.
