Daniel Samson Hobbs, Sr.

Daniel Samson Hobbs, 42 went home to be with the Lord. He is preceded in death by his beloved daughter Wynnona (Nonie) Jo Hobbs, his parents Charlotte W. and James A. Hobbs. Dan is survived by his daughter Mia Jo, and his son Daniel Samson Hobbs Jr, siblings Margo (Ken) Kohrs, Theresa Funkhouser, Donna Price, Jennifer Robinson, James Hobbs III, Christopher (Joanne) Hobbs, Andrew (Gretchen) Hobbs, Jonathan Hobbs, David (Kevin) Hobbs, including his special friend Tiffany Smith,  numerous nephews, and nieces, and Bella (Dan's furbaby).

Daniel was learning to walk when his love for sports began, especially baseball. He was a natural-born athlete, his love and knowledge of the game of baseball, helped him coach other young players with select softball. Where he earned the distinct title of "Team Mom". The players and families all loved Dan, and the joy, the laughter he brought to the field. He owned and operated Hobbs Affordable Lawn Care, so he can subsidize his love, his kids. 

Daniel Samson Hobbs journey on earth is over, and all of us he left who had the pleasure of knowing and loving him, will forever miss his soft-spoken manners, his one-of-a-kind sense of humor, and his kind heart. For a lot of us, baseball will never be the same without him. Dan, you are back where you started in life in the arms of God, mom, and dad. We love you! Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on the wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not be faint. 

A funeral service will be held 12 noon, Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at Morris Sons Funeral Home, 1771 E. Dorothy Lane, Kettering with Dayne Edward Thomas officiating. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. – 12 noon, prior to the service.  Burial will be private.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Jonathan Hobbs to be placed in a trust for Dan’s children.
