Christine Sue (Strausburg) Wood “Church Mouse”, age 57 of Dayton, OH; passed on peacefully Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Hospice of Dayton after celebrating an early Christmas with her two sons and their significant others. She was brought into this world at Grandview Hospital in Dayton, Ohio by: devout Catholic and loving mother: Mary “Eileen”' (Mulligan) Strausburg & father Karl Marcellus Strausburg a decorated Navy War Veteran. She was the third of four siblings: eldest brother - Army Veteran Donald Strausburg, eldest sister - Gail (Strausburg) Brown, baby sister – “Becky” Rebecca (Strausburg) Stumpff. Christine was a graduate of Kaiser high school. Yea! Go Panthers!" Class of 1982, dedicated Cub Scout den mother and primary organizer of the Blue & Gold banquet (assisted by scout leader Pete Gough). Joyful volunteer service member, serving: Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, St. Adalbert Catholic Church, The Polish Club of Old North Dayton, accomplished Administrative Assistant at Calvary Cemetery - Dayton, OH. Former wife of: Michael A. Gitzinger (divorced) & David Michael “Mike” Wood (divorced). Survived by: brother Donald Strausburg, son Nicholas Michael Gitzinger and his significant other & honorary daughter Mary Ann Carter, son David Michael Wood II & daughter-in-law Joni Wood, former husband Michael Gitzinger, nieces and nephews: Paul Strausburg, Michael Stumpff, Brian Strausburg, Jared Stumpff, honorary mentions: Lynore Sarber - The hero of the day Hospice Chaplain: Sharon. Preceded in death by father: Karl Strausburg, mother Eileen Strausburg, beloved nephew Uriah, sister "Becky" “Beck”, sister Gail Strausburg, former Husband David Michael “Mike” Wood 1st. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, 22 Notre Dame Ave. with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.  Please meet at the church and not the funeral home the day of the service.   The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, December 28 at Morris Sons Funeral Home, 1771 E.
