Nancy Andes Sayre

SAYRE, Nancy Andes, 85, passed away on May 1, 2017. She was born on July 24, 1931 to the late Ivalou Freeders Andes and Stuard S. Andes Sr. She grew up in Fairborn Ohio and graduated from Fairborn Bath High School in 1949. Nancy was a graduate of The Ohio State University. She spent her career in the Fairborn City Schools, first as a teacher, then as a principal. After retirement she volunteered a lot of her time on several committees, including the Fairborn Art Association and Fairborn Parks and Recreation. She was a recipient of the Fairborn City Schools Hall of Honor and a member of the First Church of Christ Scientist - Dayton Chapter. Nancy loved to travel, cook, paint, research family history, root for the OSU Buckeyes and spend time with family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Orren Sayre, sister Mary Lou Andes and her brother Stuard "Sam" Andes Jr. Nancy was survived by numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. The family would like to thank Brookdale Fox Run for the wonderful care and support they received. Family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Thursday, May 4, 2017 with services and readings by Anne Frayne to follow at 7 PM at MORRIS SONS FUNERAL HOME, 104 W. Main Street, Fairborn, Ohio. Private graveside service at Byron Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Fairborn City Schools Hall of Honor and First Church of Christ Scientist, 533 E First St, Dayton, OH 45402.
