Lonnie Witt Obituary

WITT, Lonnie, age 87, of Riverside, passed away Friday, April 27, 2018 at home. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Pearlie Witt on Nov. 19, 2009; granddaughter, Amanda Nicole in 1984; parents; William L. and Martha Jane Witt; brothers; Elvin, Elmer, Theo, and William Witt Jr.; sisters; Oma Howard, Rose Nantz and Sarah Nantz. Lonnie is survived by his three children; Travis (Debi) Witt, Harold (Diane) Witt and Charlotte (Mike) Abney; grandchildren; Travis (Kim), Matthew (Tara), Jaclyn (fiancé Todd), Tatum (Nick), Stephanie (Mike), Erin (Steven); great grandchildren: Sophia, Jordyn; Gracelyn, Hadley, Camilla, Kaleb, Halle, Kamdyn, Maddie (newborn on April 27) and another one on the way; and a sister, Lois Hoskins. Lonnie was a U.S Army disabled Veteran during Korean War and retired truck driver. After retirement worked at Mad River School System as a bus driver. Lonnie was a member of Mt. Olive Freewill Baptist Church for over 35 years. He loved fishing, hunting, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He never knew a stranger and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church. Funeral service will be held 12 noon Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Mt. Olive Free Will Baptist Church 2405 Harshman Rd. in Riverside. Pastor Hollie VanHoose officiating, burial to follow at Byron Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior at the church. Arrangements entrusted to MORRIS SONS FUNERAL HOME, Kettering.
