Marianne Z. (Zink) Dieterle

Marianne Z.  Dieterle age 93 of Kettering,OH. quietly passed away Saturday, October 19, 2019. Marianne was born in 1925 in Greene County. She was the matriarch of a five-generation family. Marianne was a pioneer of female athletics in her early years starring in both basketball and softball for National Cash Register company teams. Marianne was an avid bowler, bowling weekly into her 80’s. She also enjoyed playing cards, all games and to all hours. Marianne’s love of sports and competitive spirit continued through her passionate support of the athletic exploits of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Above all Marianne was devoted to family. She loved cooking for and being with family, especially during the holidays. She collected cows and framed photos of her extensive family.

Marianne was preceded in death by parents, Otto and Margaret; her husband Wilbur of 57 years; brothers and sisters-in-law Andy (Rita) and Otto (Liz) Zink, sisters and brothers-in-law Carrie (Thomas) Domino, Margaret (William) Greene, Helen(Marvin) Bausman, daughter-in-law Peggy Dieterle (David), and great granddaughter Briellynn Bullard. 

She is survived by her brother Jim Zink (Shirley), two sons David and John (Diane) Dieterle, and one daughter Dianne (Brad) Judge; grandchildren, Branda (Brent) LaBuy, Laura (Edward) Bullard, Jillian (Kevin) Davidson, Mary (Aaron) Lozano, Andrew and John Ashbrook, Parker and Cooper Dieterle, Kyle (Anaka) and Ross (Meredith) Judge; great grandchildren Nicole (Tristan) Cook, Jayc Dieterle, Eilah Bullard, Byron Davidson, Charlotte and Desmond Lozano; great great grandchildren Daphne and Phoebe Cook.

The family will receive friends at Morris Sons Funeral Home, 1771 E. Dorothy Lane, Kettering, on Thursday, October 24 from 11:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow immediately at Beavertown Cemetery on Valleywood Drive in Kettering, OH.
