Leah Nobling Obituary

Leah Margaret (Shafer) Nobling passed away on January 9, 2019 at the age of 97. She was born in 1921 in Lewistown, Ohio to Oren and Cora (Smith) Shafer. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years, Thomas R. Nobling, two infant sisters, Clara Shafer & June Shafer, sisters Alice Graham and Ruth Sweeney, and one brother, Max Shafer. She is survived by two daughters, Sharon (Dave) Naragon and Marcia (Sheldon) Sisco, and one son, Thomas R. (Debi) Nobling, Jr., three grandsons, Gary (Sabrina) Sisco, Kevin (Traci) Sisco and Matthew Naragon, three great grandchildren, Nathaniel Sisco, Kelsey Sisco and Jackson Sisco, 16 nieces and nephews, and many great nieces, nephews, and friends. She attended Trinity United Church of Christ in Fairborn for 65 years and was a member for 58 years. She loved dancing all of her life and especially enjoyed big band music. She was an avid card player and especially enjoyed beating her family at gin rummy. She was a certified cosmetologist and worked in a beauty shop in Fairfield (what is now Fairborn) with her two best friends for several years. Her longevity can be attributed to her loving, caring nature and great sense of humor. She will be dearly missed by her family.
