Pumpelly, Mrs. Kathleen F "Kaye"., age 93 of Beavercreek, Matriarch and co-founder of the Airway Animal Clinic, passed away Friday, September 14, 2018. She is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Dr. William T. Pumpelly, her parents William B. & Rosa Kothman Frey, siblings: Viola Roderer, Luetta Bockrath, Olga Weisz, Elsie Kettler, William "Bud" Frey, and Vernon Frey. She is survived by her son: Dr. Thomas ( Kelly ) Pumpelly, grandchildren: Billy and Kristine Kathleen; daughter: Colleen ( John ) Morelock, grandchildren: Rachel and Jonathan; sister-in-law Emily Wolfson, and many nieces and nephews. Kaye Pumpelly was a an avid bingo player at Carroll High School bingo and a member of bowling leagues at both Pla-Mor and Beaver Vu bowling alleys. She was a huge fan of the University of Kentucky Basketball & Auburn University Football. She was a caring person that did not know a stranger and was welcoming to everyone she met. She adored children and always made time to play games with them. She was a strong person that always had a positive attitude and did not let anything get her down. She was a hard worker and quite accomplished, fulfilling the roles of veterinary assistant, animal groomer, and book-keeper at the Airway Animal Clinic as well as even piloted and helped restore aircraft. Other interests included ceramics, sewing, crochet and fishing at her vacation home in Apalachicola, FL with her family & friends. She enjoyed spending time on the family farm in Cynthiana Kentucky. She was a nurturing person raising and caring for everything from homeless bunnies, cats, dogs, cattle, pigs and children. She will be missed by all who had the good fortune to know her. The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, September 19, at Morris Sons Funeral Home, 1771 E. Dorothy Lane, Kettering. A funeral service will be held 11:30 a.m. Thursday, September 20, at Beaver Baptist Church in Cynthiana, KY with a visitation at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial to follow at Beaver Baptist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Research Hospital, the Humane Society of Greene County, or St. Labre Indian School in Ashland, MT.
