Sally Vanzant

Sara (Sally) K. (McCoy) Vanzant of Fairborn, Ohio, 88, passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2017. Born at home near Rainsboro, Ohio, June 27, 1929, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Ernest (Ernie) G. Vanzant, parents, John and Emma (Penwell) McCoy, brother, John (Jack) McCoy, and sister, Mary Jane (McCoy) Karnes. She is survived by her two sons and daughter-in-laws, Rick and Cindy and Steve and Sue, four grandchildren, Scott, Travis (Jenny), Ashley and Audrey, three great-grandchildren, Penelope (Poppi), Walker and Sawyer Vanzant, a sister-in-law, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Sally truly loved her family and friends and treasured every moment she spent talking, laughing and sharing stories. She had a heart that smiled for everyone. Always active and on the move, she still took time, as a member of Blankets of Love, to crochet hundreds of blankets for Hospice of Dayton.
A service is planned for Thursday, November 30, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at Morris Sons Funeral Home, 104 W. Main Street, Fairborn with Pastor Kirk Ross Officiating. The family will greet friends at the funeral home, beginning at 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Byron Cemetery, Fairborn.
