Marvin Kouse Obituary
Marvin Kouse of Beavercreek, OH, passed away peacefully after a long and courageous battle with Lewy Body Dementia on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at the age of 66.
Marvin leaves behind his devoted wife of 40 years, Debbie; son Chad of Kettering, OH; son Chris (Andria) of Beavercreek, OH; brother Russell (Sheila); sister Darlene Michel (Steve); sister Nancy Brown and 5 grandchildren, Kyli, Sam, Leo, Clementine, and Hudson.
Marvin was born in Dayton, OH, to Rodney (Jake) and Virginia Kouse. He graduated from Fairmont East HS in 1969. Marvin retired after 30 years of service from Ameritech (Ohio Bell) in 1999 where he worked as a technician and later in management. During his retirement he enjoyed driving a school bus for Kettering City Schools for 8 years. His children remember him as a hard working but fun loving dad who could do anything. He could build a deck, fix cars, program the computer, and then show you a new karate move. He was always their biggest fan and urged them to pursue their goals.
Marvin was very musical, played guitar and sang daily, and was the frontman of a local rock band when he was younger. He was athletic and stayed active as long as he could, playing racquetball, water skiing, and teaching his sons how to play baseball. He loved to have fun with his friends and throw back a few beers listening to music or playing cards. He also enjoyed riding his Harley and going to see live bands.
A funeral is scheduled for 1:00 PM Monday, July 2, 2018 at MORRIS SONS FUNERAL HOME 1771 E. Dorothy Lane in Kettering with Pastor Rob Wackerman officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Marvin's life. The family would like to thank the staff at River Oaks Alzheimer's Special Care Center of Miamisburg and Hospice of Dayton for the loving care they provided at the end of Marvin's life. His suffering is over and now we have to find a way to heal from the hole that his passing has left. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association Miami Valley Chapter, 31 W Whipp Rd, Dayton, OH 45459. Condolences may be left at Morris-sons.com
