BOEN, Marvin, 94, of Dayton, Ohio, is now in Heaven leading Bible studies and joyfully singing baritone once again, having left this earth Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2016, enveloped in the love of his family. Born in Boyd, Ky., Sept. 20, 1922, he moved with his parents and siblings at a young age to Dayton, Ohio. Valedictorian of his high school class, he worked at NCR for 43 years. During World War II, he served in the Army tank corps, seeing action in the Philippines. After the war, he returned to Dayton and fell in love with Jean Bogard. They were married Aug. 2, 1947. Jean was by his side when he died. Marvin, often called Bo, is also survived by his children Dan (Jennifer) of Fort Wayne, Ind.; Dennis (Elsa) of Wooster, Ohio; Diane (Randy) of Miamisburg, Ohio; and Donna of Oxford, Ohio; his five grandchildren; and his 11 (and two-thirds) great-grandchildren. Welcoming him to heaven are his dad, Zaza, and mom, Iva. He is also preceded by his younger brother, Earl, and twin sister, Maglena. Services will be Saturday, Dec. 31, 2016, at Morris Sons Funeral Home, 1771 E. Dorothy Lane, with visitation at 9 a.m. and the funeral at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Prince of Peace Church of the Brethren, 800 E. David Road, Kettering, Ohio 45429. He requested that his headstone simply say "Christian." For him, that said it all. Condolences may be sent to www.morris-sons.com.
