Christopher J. IDELL, age 56, formerly of Chandler, Oklahoma, died unexpectedly January 18, 2017 in Beijing China. Born and raised in Kettering, 5th child of William and Anne Idell. Chris graduated from Archbishop Alter High School and went on to study Nortel Telephone Systems.
Chris loved to travel and was enjoying his great adventures most recently in China. His most recent employment was with the State Department as a contractor, receiving Certificate of Appreciation from both the White House Communications Agency and the State Department. When that was complete, he decided to stay in China and found employment in teaching English. Chris discovered a newfound joy in working with children of all ages in China.
Preceded in death by his parents, Chris is survived by his wife Achara, of Oklahoma; his loving sisters and brothers: Susan (Idell) and Jon Friedmann; Linda (Idell) and Paul Miller; William Idell; Michael and Angela Idell; Kathy (Idell) and Ron Kwolek;, Mary (Idell) and Jon McIntosh; Lisa (Idell) and Ari Sassi; Mark Tate, cousin; Wilfred and Kathleen McGlone; Step Father Carl Washburn and numerous other dear nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
The family will receive relatives and friends at 9:30 AM on Saturday, March 25th at St Charles Church, Kettering. Mass will be celebrated immediately after the visitation at 10:30 AM.
